After three months of ideas and mental drills, we got to the point where we need to think about how our product will look.
This week we continued to work as a two groups, each one focused on its specialties: Ori and Chen were exposed to different APIs and technologies in order to open our minds to the countless ways our product could behave.
The other Half, Gal, Barak, and Maor, continued the workshop with Hezi Taniani about “Figma”, we presented our first draft and we have got a feedback about it.
During the week we've been working on applying the feedback Hezi gave us, and we created our first version of Flipside with the main feature of the app.
After that, we tested the prototype on six potential users, we sent them a link to their mobile, we gave them a brief about what we are trying to do. Then they opened the app while sharing their screen with us and we asked them to think aloud while preforming the required tasks. During the test we've got amazing insights which help us think about some improvements that we can do to make the app the best news app :-)

The next step was to collect all of the insights and to extract the frequent points which came up. We decided what are the next things we need to focus on and started to get some inspiration about the things that came up.
In the technology side, we will use the Google API to measure the user's interaction with the application. That is, we will examine for example how many times he entered the summary of an article from a right-wing site and how many times he entered a summary of an article from a left-wing site, as well as the number of times he entered the article in full from those sites.
There are several things we need to check, for example the NewsAPI does not allow us to find articles that are specifically related to politics. We checked for another API but we are not sure if it allows us to find articles from sites that are not the particular site shown in the sample JSON file we saw.
Here is the scheme about the technological elements of our future app:
