Week 16: Evaluating the mentors' feedback + Thinking about ideas for product video

This week we had speed mentoring for the second time. For around 20 minutes we have met with one mentor from the industry, explain and present him our app, ask him questions about some dilemmas we have, and get his feedback.

Thanks to Galit Galperin, Mor Shani, and Itai Preis, we have collected good notes for improving our product. Here's some of them:

  • Make sure the order of the different articles for each topic is sorted randomly, not by publishing time, or by any other criteria that might affect its objectivity.

  • Make sure the order of the news sources list is sorted by the ABC so it will not be biased and mislead the user.

  • Make sure you give value to the users who log in to the app. Give them personal information about their reading patterns.

  • Make sure to create credibility and reliability on the "About us" page. Talk about your agenda, your vision and present your authentic story.

In addition, since we are getting closer to the final stage of the process, we had to start thinking about ideas for a product video that will introduce our app interestingly and attractively.

To start getting some inspiration, we have decided to meet in person. So we had a great Friday morning at Maor's Kibbutz! Maor made as Shakshuka and hosted us very nicely. We have made brainstorming and tried to imagine how the video will look like. We have ended up with a first draft for the potential script included voice and visual.

On the developing side, this week we have been dealing with tests on how to realize the communication between the client and the server in a better and more efficient way. We decided to test the possibility of using the firebase database. In addition, we redesigned the app's structure to add more features.
